OpenSea Marketplace has laid off some employees
NFT marketplace OpenSea is cutting about 20% of its staff, CEO Devin Finzer announced. He says the decision will better prepare the site for a protracted crypto winter, which could last up to 5 years.
Today is a hard day for OpenSea, as we’re letting go of ~20% of our team. Here’s the note I shared with our team earlier this morning: pic.twitter.com/E5k6gIegH7

Fired employees will be given severance pay, post-employment support and health insurance for 2023. Data from site CryptoDeFix. The OpenSea manager assured that such layoffs will not happen again in the future.
Devin Finzer noted that the cryptocurrency market faces an unprecedented combination of crypto winter conditions and macroeconomic instability. But at the same time, he is confident that the NFT sphere will see a lot of innovation and that it will become one of the largest industries on the planet.
