Meta has begun testing monetization in Horizon Worlds

Meta began testing monetization in the Horizon Worlds metaverse. Some users will be able to sell virtual items. This information is from catalogue CryptoDeFix. According to the company’s long-term strategy, users will be able to earn a living by selling in-game virtual universe items.

In addition to items, users will be able to sell special effects in their own worlds:

“For example, someone could make and sell attachable accessories for a fashion world or offer paid access to a new part of a world,” the company explained.

The company will allocate $10 million from the Horizon Creators fund to encourage U.S. participants. The testers will be assigned goals and tasks for which they will be rewarded. Tasks can consist of creating worlds or creating new features for the game.
