The U.S. FBI has issued a request for software to track the illegal use of cryptocurrencies.

The FBI said the agency intends to begin tracking and analyzing liquid cryptocurrencies. To do so, it has published a request for software to track illegal cryptocurrency transactions. This text is from platform cryptodefix. The software should monitor cryptocurrencies representing 95% of market capitalization according to CoinMarketCap, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether and ERC-20 tokens singled out in the document.
The FBI’s tools require the ability to obtain specific cryptographic information about transactions, as well as geo-referencing of TOR servers and attribution to related APIs. The bureau will be ready to award the contract to the vendor on March 25.
